    A year ago, Republican presidential candidates were demonizing illegal immigrants, arguing they should self-deport and vowing no amnesty ever — a template that the Orange County GOP has used for decades to win races and marginalize the Latino vote. This week, national party leaders are proposing a immigration reform that amounts to an amnesty — and no less a leader than OC GOP head Scott Baugh is calling for a virtual halt to deportations. Have OC Republicans finally had their come-to-Jesús moment, or is this pandering at its most desperate?
