SOPA Pits Hollywood against Silicon Valley
Hosts:
Kim and John discuss the heated battle over the Stop Online Piracy Act. Known as SOPA this piece of legislation has pitted Hollywood studios against Silicon Valley. Studios are desperate to prevent the pirating of their films and TV shows online which threatens their industry. But big Internet companies like Google, Facebook and Wikipedia among others are lobbying against this bill saying that it's an infringement on their rights and goes too far. Some websites like reddit.com are threatening a blackout next week as a protest against SOPA while Congress continues hearings on the legislation.
