2012's Big Box Office and the Oscar E-Voting Snafu
Hosts:
2012 ended with big numbers of people having gone to the movies. The the good domestic numbers were far surpassed by massive amounts of people going to theaters all across the globe. Skyfall has surpassed $1 billion worldwide and other movies like the latest Ice Age, The Dark Knight and The Avengers have led the pack while adult dramas like Argo and Lincoln join The Exotic Marigold Hotel as successes. Meanwhile, today the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences ends its voting window with many a member having trouble with the new e-voting system. With nominations being announced next week (January 10) there's a question of if this system will affect the outcome.
