Not my agent – I should say, not my then-agent, and not an agent I eventually signed with, either, but when you're a writer and producer in the television business, only half of your time is spent writing scripts and trying to get a show on the air. The other half – when you've successfully accomplished those other two things – is taken up with running a show, which means hiring and managing a lot of writers, all of whom have agents, all of whom want to make sure you answer their calls and read their emails...
