Quentin Tarantino: Django Unchained

Produced by:

There's no question about it. Quentin Tarantino has redefined cinema with films such as Reservoir DogsPulp Fiction,Jackie Brown, and Kill Bill: Vols. 1 & 2. His latest film, Django Unchained, takes place in the Antebellum South and stars Jamie Foxx as a slave-turned-bounty hunter Django, and Leonardo DiCaprio as loathsome Mississippi plantation owner Calvin Candie. In this candid interview, Tarantino cites influences like John Cassavetes, whom he discovered on a trip to Paris in 1992, and talks about how food can be a useful director's tool. He also explains why he disagrees with critics who claim this is just another black sidekick film, and how his usual treatment of his protagonists is perceived differently when presented in racial terms.
