Amy Berg, Lorri Davis, Damien Echols: West of Memphis

Produced by:

FI-LACMA.jpgThere have been several accounts of the story of "the West Memphis Three" in the past twenty years, including Joe Berlinger's Paradise Lost trilogy. But West of Memphis is a very different telling of a story that many people think they already know. It centers on the failure of justice in the case against the West Memphis Three, in which three teenagers -- Jessie Misskelley, Damien Echols, and Jason Baldwin -- were arrested for the murders of three 8-year old children: Christopher Byers, Steven Branch, and Michael Moore. This bonus episode of The Treatment took place at LACMA's Bing Theater among Elvis Mitchell, director Amy Berg, and subjects/co-producers Damien Echols and Lorri Davis after a screening of the film.
