The Los Angeles Food Policy Task Force was convened last fall and has
prepared a report with recommendations for how we can increase access to
healthy, affordable, fairly and sustainably produced foods and
strengthen our connection to the regional food economy. The resulting
report is The Good Food for All Agenda.
Roots
of Change will honor the work of the task force and all those who are
working to better the Los Angeles food environment at a reception that
will showcase the breadth of the Los Angeles foodshed by bringing together
pioneering farmers, top chefs, food justice advocates, and
community members from around the region.
All funds raised at the event will benefit Hunger Action Los Angeles
and Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles and their efforts
to increase the purchasing power of low-income consumers by matching
their dollars at L.A. farmers' markets.
