This summer, KCRW comes out of the studio and into communities across L.A. again with a series of free, all-ages, outdoor shows. From Pasadena to the Pacific and beyond, KCRW brings hot bands, live DJ performances and more to stages throughout L.A.

MADE IN L.A. at the Hammer Museum

Celebrating Made in L.A. 2012, the Hammer and KCRW present Made in L.A. Music Thursday evenings this summer.  KCRW DJs take up residence in the Hammer’s outdoor courtyard, selecting sets inspired by the idea of “Made in L.A.” and representing the wide array of music created in our city.  Featuring late night museum hours, free admission, special guests, prizes, cash bars and more. 7pm.

Twilight Concert Series

The Twilight Concert Series has been a fixture on the Santa Monica Pier since 1983. Beginning July 5th, KCRW is the media partner for 10 free concerts on the deck of the Santa Monica Pier every Thursday evening through September 6th. The series will feature an eclectic array of musicians, from international artists like Amadou & Mariam to the spectacle of Parade Collective (featuring musicians from Cirque du Soleil) to the familiar sounds of Los Angeles' own Best Coast. 7pm.

Limited parking is available in the 1550 Pacific Coast Highway Lot, on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no parking permitted on the Pier Parking Deck. Concertgoers are encouraged to take the Big Blue Bus or to utilize the free bike valet, stationed on the beach next to the bicycle path on the south side of the pier.


One Colorado - Old Pasadena

Experience the KCRW music you love in the beautiful One Colorado courtyard in the heart of Old Pasadena.  Seating is open and limited – so feel free to come early and get a drink at the bar. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, so bring a friend and make a night out of it!  7:30 – 9:30pm.

Bahamas is the musical pseudonym of Toronto-based songwriter Afie Jurvanen, who first gained attention as Feist's touring guitarist. Captivating and melodic, his songs are a laid-back excursion into tropical pop that have earned him both a devoted fan base and a significant amount of critical acclaim.

Founded by three siblings, Delta Rae's fusion of gospel, country, folk and rock built around mesmerizing four-part harmonies made them an instant KCRW favorite. This six-piece buzz band from the deep woods of North Carolina will rock One Colorado with an energetic live performance featuring songs off their brand new album.

Chinatown Summer Nights

Part food event and part summer party, Chinatown Summer Nights features live cooking demonstrations, hands-on Chinese cultural activities, video projections, food trucks, authentic Chinese restaurants, and KCRW DJs rockin' the dance floor – all in the heart of one of L.A.'s most unique neighborhoods. 5pm – midnight; KCRW DJ sets from 8p-12a. California Plaza parking garage address is 351 S. Olive Ave, Los Angeles (most easily accessed between 1st and 4th streets). Rates are $7.50 starting 2 hours before evening Grand Performances events (cash only).  Daytime parking is located in an open air Joe's Parking lot at the corner of Olive St. and 2nd for $8 per day. 

Segerstrom Center for the Arts - Orange County

Celebrate Halloween and Christmas in July with KCRW's Matt Holzman of Matt's Movies!  This free, very special outdoor screening of Tim Burton's music-filled The Nightmare Before Christmas is part of Segerstrom Center for the Arts "Free For All Movie Mondays" screenings in the Center's Community Plaza.  Bring friends & family, beach chairs & blankets, snacks & picnic dinners.  There will also be snacks available for purchase.  Set up: 5:30pm; movie starts @ dusk (about 8pm).

Who Shot Rock & Roll: Live - Century City

KCRW and the Annenberg Space for Photography join forces this summer for a series of a three, free summer concerts to accompany the groundbreaking exhibition Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photography History, 1955 – Present. Join us on the outdoor plaza adjacent to the Photography Space in the heart of Century City for live music, photography and more.  FREE, but RSVP required.  7-10pm.

To access self-parking, please enter from either:

- Constellation between Avenue of the Stars and Century Park East (parking entrance is on the south side of the street)
- Century Park East (just west of Olympic)
Validation expires at midnight. All remaining cars subject to prevailing fee of $20.
