Ibrahim Ferrer

Host:
Ibrahim Ferrer is the primary male singer for the Buena Vista Social Club. He is a legendary Cuban singer, whose career began when he trekked to Havana in l957 and made his fame with groups like Los Bocucos and the fabled Orquesta Chepin.
He was rediscovered by Ry Cooder and Nic Gold four years ago, and has achieved world fame for his joyful, ebullient, and timeless singing.
This was his only U.S. interview and I so enjoyed doing it. He's one of those people who invigorate you with their joy when you're around them, and I'll never forget the pleasure I had sharing those precious minutes with him. (http://www.sasamusic.com/ibrahim.htm)
