Unknown Mortal Orchestra's sophomore recording, slated for release in early February, is silky psychedelia. Fronted by New Zealand ex-pat Ruban Nelson, who wrote the album, II, while on tour with simpatico artists like Grizzly Bear and Liars, reflects the emotional ups and downs of being on the road.
