Jason Bentley kicks off our nine-hour Labor Day music special. Jason is one of three popular KCRW hosts who have changed the musical landscape worldwide with their unique styles and music tastes. Like Garth Trinidad (1-4pm) and Anne Litt (9pm-midnight), Jason will cull from the archives, spotlight artists he's discovered and championed, and share memorable moments.
Recently, Jason made history as the first-ever DJ at the Governors Ball, the celebration following the 2008 Academy Awards presentation. He was also on the decks for Entertainment Tonight's star-studded Emmy Awards after-party in 2007, with an encore performance set for 2008.
This special three-hour Labor Day special will feature Zero 7, Daft Punk, the Chemical Brothers and Portishead. Jason's first airing of Portishead's seminal album Dummy was on a cassette -- he was so excited to share it with the KCRW audience, he just couldn't wait! (9am to noon)
