I know a team or writers who, years ago wrote an episode of a television comedy in which the leads – they were a married couple, it was a family kind of sitcom – hire a business manager to manage their money. The business manager puts the husband and the wife on a strict budget, and that’s where the conflict erupted, and as we all know, it’s conflict that drives comedy. There’s nothing funny about happy people living in tranquility. If you want laughs, you must first have some yelling....
