Many nonprofit organizations dedicate themselves to bettering society by offering services that would not otherwise be available from either the private sector or the government. These nonprofits, KCRW included, are always trying to raise the money they need to provide their services. But in these United States and throughout the world, there's a new set of individuals with an entrepreneurial bent who are out to make life better for everyone. They're called social entrepreneurs and they've created what's known as the social purpose business sector. Sarah Spitz speaks with authors and activists about what that means, and how that sector operates.
