Act one. Hawaii. Ira brings in pictures from a family vacation to Hawaii. He went to try to feel closer to his parents, but none of the activities that might bring people closer together seemed to work. Act two. Ethiopian Vacation. A story by Los Angeles writer Sandra Tsing Loh, from her one-woman show "Aliens; in America," about the year her pennypinching father was talked into an economy vacation to Ethiopia, where there was a famine and a civil war, and where fellow tourists were taken hostage. Act three. Hitchhiking. Writer David Sedaris, author of the book "Barrel; Fever" and the forthcoming "Naked;" on his years hitchhiking acros the country. He loved especially getting into a car and pretending to be someone he wasn't.
