FROM THIS EPISODE

LA's often-divided Latino politicians have publicly agreed that the LA School Board's treatment of Superintendent Ruben Zacarias has been insulting to the parents of Latinos, who make up 70% of student body. But they also agree that the district needs drastic reform to properly serve those same children. State Senator Richard Polonco says, it's not just education that's at stake, but also money. He says Latinos want their team managing the district's 7-billion-dollar annual budget. Where should race stand in the LAUSD equation?
