Governor Schwarzenegger plans the largest reorganization of government in state history-eliminating up to 200 boards and commissions and 1500 political appointees. A staff of 265 people is working in secret on a plan that will give the legislature just 60 days to say -yes- or -no.- That-s according to Jim Hinch of the Orange County Register.

Ten days ago a power outage of less than a second caused an equipment failure in the control tower that lasted several hours. Yesterday, in another outage, but electrical backup systems worked and no flights were delayed. What worries airport officials is that the cause of both outages was the same: a big bird that touched an overhead wire and a utility pole at the same time.
