FROM THIS EPISODE

When a motorcycle roars up between you and another car, it's called "lane splitting." In California, it's not yet mentioned in the vehicle code, but this is close to becoming the first state to make it legal. We hear that drivers and bikers have different ideas about what should be allowed — and what should be prohibited.

Also, family ties in the City of Industry, where 10% of the voters in tomorrow's election have the same name as a former Mayor who's been accused of corruption.

New Rules for Sharing the Road 18 MIN, 14 SEC

Every driver in California has seen motorcycles weave through the traffic on roads and freeways. "Lane splitting" is not illegal, but it's not legal either — at least not yet. AB 51 would make it part of the Vehicle Code. It passed the Assembly by a big margin, and it's on the way to the Senate. The author is Bill Quirk, a Democrat from the East Bay Area.

The City of Industry's First Council Election in 17 Years 6 MIN, 41 SEC

The City of Industry runs along the 10 Freeway in the San Gabriel Valley. Between 1962 and 1994, it held just one local election — with all others cancelled due to a lack of competition. Tomorrow, Industry will go to the polls for the first in 17 years -- with 125 registered voters. No less than 10 percent of them have the same name as former Mayor David Perez, who's been accused of corruption. Frank Shyong reports for the LA Times.
