The unsolved murders of hundreds of women have caused a national scandal in Mexico. In the border city of Ciudad Juarez, the official number is 250, but human rights groups put the total at 370. Mostly young and poor, they were the victims of sexual abuse and other forms of brutality. Their bodies have been turning up in desert graves and on roadsides for the past 10 years. Recently, several members of Congress went to Mexico to look into the matter. One of those was El Monte Democrat Hilda Solis.
