FROM THIS EPISODE

For the past 13 weeks, an increasing number of Americans have tuned into the television program, Survivor. Seventy-two 72 million people - or a quarter of the nation's population -- tuned in for at least part of Wednesday night's final episode.
Where did these shows come from and why are they becoming so popular? Are they new. How do they work? Our first guest, journalist Mark Schwed, is a TV Guide reporter who has written extensively on Survivor and even visited the set.
On Reporter's Notebook: Wen Ho Lee may be out of solitary next week.
