- Newsmaker: Frank Gehry to Design Playa Vista Master Plan - Frank Gehry, who designed LA's Disney Hall and the Bilbao's Guggenheim Museum, will put his stamp on the controversial Playa Vista Development. The Pritzer Prize-winning architect, who accepted the invitation of friend-developer Rob Maguire, will wed aesthetics to functionality in creating a master plan for the office park as well as his own new office.
- Reporter's Notebook: Uncounted Votes in Los Angeles - As it was in Florida, so it was in Los Angeles where a sizable number of poor minority voters were disenfranchised in last year's presidential election. A study commissioned by members of Congress shows Congressional districts all over the US had problems. A full 4% of LA's votes were never counted. Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard represents East LA, downtown and other communities. Her district was hit especially hard.
