President Obama Addresses Nation on Iran, Healthcare
KCRW presents NPR News' live, anchored coverage of President Obama’s news conference. Iran and health care are expected to be the big topics. Following his address, the President is expected to take questions from the media. Neal Conan will host our coverage. White House Correspondent Scott Horsley and NPR Health Correspondent Julie Rovner will join Neal in the studio. Mike Shuster will join on a phone line from Dubai.
Airing at 9:20am, the news conference will pre-empt part of Morning Becomes Eclectic.
Obama Names Sonia Sotomayor to Supreme Court
President Obama this morning named Sonia Sotomayor to fill the seat of retiring Justice David Souter on the Supreme Court. If confirmed, 54-year-old Sotomayor would bring nearly 17 years of experience on the federal bench and a history of bipartisan appeal to the high court. The daughter of Puerto Rican-born parents would be the first Latina to sit on the Court. KCRW presents a one-hour National Public Radio special, hosted by Neal Conan, which will contain live coverage of the President's announcement. Guests include NPR Senior Washington Editor Ron Elving, NPR Legal Affairs Correspondent Nina Totenberg, NPR Political Correspondent Mara Liasson, and NPR Justice Correspondent Ari Shapiro. (Special broadcast airs 4-5pm.)

President Obama is scheduled to address the nation tonight, in a prime-time news conference that marks his first 100 days in office. KCRW will broadcast the President's remarks live, with analysis from NPR News. Airs 5-6pm
President Obama to Address Nation on Budget, Economic Plan
Last week, President Barack Obama spent a few days in southern California, where he held town hall meetings in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. On Tuesday, he will address the nation in a televised press conference. Obama is expected to discuss the budget and his economic recovery plan. KCRW will carry the press conference live at 5pm.

President Barack Obama has begun a series of Town Hall meetings, the first of which was yesterday, Wednesday, in Costa Mesa. Today, he holds a second meeting near downtown Los Angeles. KCRW will provide live streaming audio of the meeting at 1pm.

KCRW will air NPR’s live anchored coverage of the President's address, as well as the Republican response from Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. On January 20, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States and the first African American to hold the nation's highest office. KCRW will present live coverage of this historic day.
