Silver Lake's Sunset Junction Music Festival Cancelled

The Sunset Junction Music Festival began in LA's Silver Lake district 30 years ago, and it's grown into an annual event with dozens of bands and tens of thousands of fans. But this year, it's not going to happen, even though DJ's and music acts were already booked and thousands of tickets were already sold. We find out why the Board of Public Works said, "No."  Also, the Santa Monica School District defies a healthy-food trend and sticks with chocolate milk. On our rebroadcast of today's To the Point, what's next for Libya and for America's role in foreign adventures?

Santa Monica Schools Stick with Chocolate Milk ()

The LA Unified School District has banned chocolate milk for its hundreds of thousands of students, on the ground that it contains too much sugar at a time when childhood obesity is epidemic. Last night, the subject was taken up by the Santa Monica-Malibu School Board, a much smaller district where kids already get whole wheat pasta, lunchtime salad bars and fresh vegetables every day. Contrary to the expectations of many people, they will still be served chocolate milk. Jose Escarce is a Professor of Medicine at UCLA and President of the School Board.
