Governor Brown wants to push students through the community college system faster by charging them more when they slow down. But even kids who do well in high school may not have the skills for higher education. Also, the LA District Attorney is looking into newly released documents showing that Cardinal Roger Mahony helped protect priests who molested children from law enforcement. Revelations from Archdiocese Bring Calls for Prosecution ()
LA District Attorney Jackie Lacy's office says it will review newly released documents showing that the highest official in the nation's largest Roman Catholic Archdiocese protected priests who abused children from law enforcement. Yesterday, retired Cardinal and former Archbishop Roger Mahony repeated his apology for Gillian Flaccus of the Associated Press. We hear from her and from Joelle Casteix, Western Regional Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.

After passage of Proposition 30, which raised taxes last year, Governor Brown said he'd use some new money to help the state's 112-campus system of community colleges. His new budget proposes some $200 million in new funding, along with reforms designed to speed students through a process in which many get lost.
