Robert Redford Sets Up Shop in LA On Friday of next week, there will be a major new venue for movies in West Hollywood. The Sunset 5 at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Crescent Heights will now be the Sundance Sunset Cinema. The President of the Sundance Group is one of the major figures in American films. We hear from actor, director and producer Robert Redford, who says his new theater will be reminiscent of the Los Angeles movie houses of his childhood, and from Chris McGurk, chair and CEO of Cinedigm Digital Cinema, who says that somewhere during his corporate ride in Hollywood, he became a "softie" and fell in love with independent film.
Terrorism and tweets, hate speech and murder Just days before an election, Britain is coping with a rash of deadly terrorism, and Prime Minister Theresa May is on the defensive. But the President failed to provide what 27 other Alliance members have been waiting for: a re-commitment by America’s new leader to Article 5. Instead, they got a scolding.
What happens when America retreats from the world? Is President Trump taking his "America First" agenda to extremes, withdrawing the country from the international stage on trade and climate change, distancing America from its traditional allies across the Atlantic and even threatening to physically isolate the country through the building of a wall along its southern border? León Krauze guest hosts.
