US Decides to Shoot Down a Deaf Spy Satellite Two weeks ago, we heard that a broken American spy satellite had fallen out of orbit and was scheduled to strike the Earth early next month. Little danger to humans was predicted. Today, it appears that the Pentagon plans to shoot it down before it reaches the Earth's atmosphere.
