Frustrated by the failure of the so-called "DREAM Act" to grant them citizenship and unsatisfied by President Obama's offer of deferred deportation, they crossed into Mexico and then asked for the right to return on humanitarian grounds. Lizbeth Mateo, who was 10 when she was brought to the US, is a graduate of Cal State Northridge who's already told Santa Clara Law School she may not make classes on time.
