Chris Muckley

music host

As a child, Chris Muckley was obsessed with the family stereo.

After a few years of replacing scratched records and broken needles, his parents gave him some vinyl and a Fischer Price record player of his own. He would set it up in the window of his bedroom and perform "radio shows" for the neighborhood kids.

When he went away to college, the first thing Muckley did was find the campus radio station and get involved. By the end of his freshman year, he had landed a job doing weekends on the air at a commercial rock station.

Muckley is best known for being a long-time member of the airstaff at San Diego's 91X.  He served as the station's music director from 1996 to 2003, at which time he scaled back to a part-time DJ in order to pursue other interests.

Now living in LA, Muckley is excited to be furthering his passion for music and broadcasting on air at KCRW.
