Existing Beach Wins, New Toll Road Loses in San Onofre California’s Transportation Corridor Agency wants to build 16 miles of a 6-lane toll road across the Trestles marine estuary through San Onofre State Beach. The goal is to relieve the bottleneck on Interstate 5 in Southern Orange and Northern San Diego Counties. Last night, to the cheers of a crowd of 3500 people, the State Coastal Commission said, “no.”
