Goodbye, Barbaro: Much-loved Racehorse Euthanized Barbaro , the winner of this year's Kentucky Derby , gained sympathy all over the world after breaing down in his next race, the Preakness . Veterinarians and trainers have been working since May to keep Barbaro alive, but today they gave up the battle and put him to death.
