The Los Angeles Economy and Jobs Committee Releases its Report Los Angeles has lost 30,000 jobs in the past decade and 106,000 in manufacturing alone during the past 17 years. Those are among the findings of a 26-person committee put together last year by Mayor Villaraigosa . It’s a diverse group, including the President of USC , the Director of the Hammer Museum and the leader of the County Federation of Labor . Today, the committee released its 130-page report on revitalizing the local economy.
