The third generation of successful Boston-based real estate developers, he invested $1 million in the 2006 Demi Moore flop Half Light, but redeemed himself mightily by providing vital financing for In the Valley of Elah and Michael Clayton. He's here to stay, according to a 2005 story in Variety. His LA-based production company, Samuels Media, plans to "wholly finance three or four films each year with budgets at $40 million."
