Mustang Screening Filled

Sorry, this screening is now full.

The young sisters at the center of the new film “Mustang” live up to the title - they’re spirited and powerful. And they react fiercely when their family tries to tame them.

A surprisingly fun and deeply feminist film set in Turkey, “Mustang” is a front-runner for this year’s Foreign Language Oscar.

First Take will screen “Mustang” for KCRW sustaining members this Tuesday the 10th in Beverly Hills. Doors open for food trucks at 6:30, the screening starts at 8:00. There will be a Q&A with director Deniz Gamze Ergüven and some of the stars after the screening.

Parents! Please feel free to bring up to two teenagers with you to this screening (for a total of up to 4 people). While the film deals frankly with sex at times, it's rated PG-13 - and it's a great story of female empowerment. The Q&A with the girls in the film should be really fun and thought-provoking!
