When superheroes behave badly on Hollywood Boulevard

Batgirl took a beating, and now Mr. Incredible is going to jail.

A Hollywood Boulevard superhero smackdown that was captured on video and became a YouTube hit has resulted in a battery conviction for 35-year-old man. It’s also led to fresh concerns that a proliferation of costumed, tip-seeking characters is getting out of hand in the epicenter of L.A. tourism.

Muhammet Bilik – who was dressed as Mr. Incredible – fought with Batgirl last October as Freddy Krueger, Chewbaca and Waldo, from “Where’s Waldo” tried to break up the scuffle.

Bilik was sentenced yesterday to one day in jail, three years of probation and anger management classes. He’s also been banned from the Hollywood Entertainment District for three years.hollywoodsperheroes

It’s hardly the first case of superheroes behaving badly on Hollywood Boulevard. A couple of years ago, two Captain Americas and Spiderman got into a tussle. Elmo and another Mr. Incredible were arrested a few years back for aggressive panhandling.

The city chased the superheroes off a few years ago and tried to ban them from Hollywood Boulevard. But some costumed crusaders sued and the city was forced to back off.
