1. Site-specific art at Morphosis and Mackey Apartments 

Heidi Duckler Dance Studio hits Thom Mayne’s Morphosis this Sunday and next Sunday for a performance of Space Opera, “a literal and figurative journey through space and place.” Make sure you catch the opening party this Sunday (3/15) night.

2. inCOLLABORATION: Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee

From their striking faceted home on a vertiginous site to their winning design for the Menil Drawing Institute, L.A.-based Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee are a firm worth watching. Hear them speak at the A+D Museum this Thursday.

3. Mexico: Fantastic Identity Opening Party

The Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach is featuring work from Mexico in a new exhibit that opens this week. Find works from Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, muralists José Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros and more. And help kick it all off by joining their opening party this Saturday.

4. Send in the Drones

As news organizations (including KCRW) continue to turn to drones as news gathering tools, more questions emerge about how to use them for the benefits they offer without making others feel threatened. 5. LA Print 

LACMA’s LA Print explores current trends in printmaking and print publishing in Los Angeles. This year’s “Edition 5,” taking place Tuesday night, features three Los Angeles–based artists Stas Orlovski, Alison Saar, and Jonas Wood presenting their recent print editions and discussing the relevance of printmaking to their work in general.
