KCRW’s Christopher Olin speaks with L.A. bartender Brandyn Tepper (Apartment A) who says a few simple ingredients can turn your stay-at-home holiday into a truly romantic affair.
RASPBERRY TOM COLLINS
ice cubes
2-4 raspberries
2 oz. dry gin
3/4 oz. lemon juice
3/4 oz. simple sugar
chilled sparkling rose
slice of lemon
Add raspberries, lemon juice and syrup to a cocktail shaker* and muddle. Add ample ice and gin and shake briefly. Pour into a tall glass and top with sparkling rose. Stir well and serve with a lemon slice and a straw.
*If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, use a tall glass and stir everything instead of shaking
ROSE PETAL
ice cubes

Add raspberries, lemon juice and syrup to a cocktail shaker* and muddle. Add ample ice and gin and shake briefly. Pour into a tall glass and top with sparkling rose. Stir well and serve with a lemon slice and a straw.
Not sure how to make about simple syrup. Here’s a simple recipe:
SIMPLE SYRUP
1 cup white sugar
1 cup water
In a medium saucepan combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool.
