Record Breaking 347 Pies Entered in the 5th Annual Good Food Pie Contest at LACMA

Last year’s judges tasted over 200 pies. This year we’ve added more judges to accommodate the almost 350 entries.

Pie contest judges get your spandex out – this year we received a record breaking 347 entries from 263 contestants for the 5th Annual Good Food Pie Contest. Registration is now closed for the event, but come on out and cheer on the bakers and taste their pies this Saturday, September 7th at LACMA. Good Food’s own Evan Kleiman will preside over the afternoon pie festivities which will include music provided by KCRW DJ Anne Litt, pie tasting, and much more!

2pm: Pie Tasting Begins

For pie tasting, guests are asked to find the KCRW Welcome Table in Hancock Park just north of the Ahmanson Building. This area is adjacent to 6th Street on the East side of the museum campus. Tickets are limited based on the number of entries and will be given to guests on a first come, first served basis. The event is FREE and open to the public.

Patina will offer food and beverages for sale on the half moon terrace adjacent to the pie contest. Plus, Stark Bar will be unveiling Windowsill, Evan Kleiman’s pie beer collaboration with The Bruery AND they will mixing an Easy Peasy Peachy Pie cocktail, made with muddled peach, Larceny bourbon, fresh lemon juice, and raspberries, topped with spiced foam and a graham cracker crumble garnish. Craving some savory? Stop by Ray’s for a Hare Pie filled with slow-braised rabbit, baby carrots and topped with a flaky crust.

* LACMA opens at 10 am on Saturday.  Anyone who wears an apron to LACMA on Saturday will gain free admission to the museum.
