'Pan' Flops, Makes a Rough Year Worse for Warner Bros.

Hosted by and

It's been a tough year for Warner Bros, starting with Jupiter Ascending, and continuing with films that never took off -- the Vacation reboot and Entourage movie among them. Now the studio is facing its biggest flop yet in Pan. The Peter Pan origin story cost $150 million to make, and opened to just over $15 million. Looking ahead, there's one director stretched across two giant projects. David Yates directed the $180 million reboot of Tarzan, but the film remains unfinished, still in post production. In the meantime, he's moved on to direct Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a Harry Potter spin-off. Along with the DC Comics movies, the success of the studio in the coming months rides on this one director's two projects.
