Boyle Heights coffee shop at ground zero in gentrification debate

A coffee shop in Boyle Heights has turned into ground zero for the debate over gentrification. The Latino-majority community just east of Downtown LA has seen rents on the rise, new developments going up, and the opening of new retail, including Weird Wave, the coffee house that vandals targeted last week amid intense protests over its existence.
