Disneyland at 60: What's Next?

Hosted by

This past weekend, Disneyland threw a 24-hour party to celebrate its 60th birthday. Much has changed, of course, in its host city of Anaheim since Walt Disney bulldozed acres of orange groves to create his first theme park. With district elections looming next year, the company fears a new city council might institute something it's fought against for decades: a gate tax. Can Disneyland -- which has long enjoyed kid-gloves treament by previous councilmembers -- negotiate its way out of stormy waters ahead?
