David Sedaris tells a story from his first book, Naked: he was one of the loudest and meanest when kids starting picking on sissy boys in grade school, because he knew if he didn't, he'd be the next one to be picked on. Also, Ira Sher's short story about a group of children who find a man trapped in a well and decide not to get help for him. His story originally appeared in the Chicago Review, and is now out of print.
