Rapper, poet, and activist from Chicago

Born Fatimah Nyeema Warner in Chicago, Noname first gained recognition in 2013 with her appearance on Chance the Rapper’s Acid Rap. She went on to release her debut mixtape Telefone in 2016, praised for its poetic narratives and warm, jazz-infused production. Her 2018 debut album Room 25 showcased her growth as an artist with witty, political, and deeply personal lyrics.

In 2019, Noname co-founded the Noname Book Club, a community-based project highlighting works by authors of color and addressing issues of social justice. After a brief hiatus from music, she returned with Sundial (2023), an album that continues her exploration of identity, politics, and community.

Noname is celebrated for her ability to weave spoken-word cadences into hip-hop, blending vulnerability with incisive commentary. She remains one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary rap, both musically and culturally.
