Jason_with_School_of_Seven_My first experience with School of Seven Bells involved chasing them around NYC, trying to catch one of their many shows during the CMJ music conference a few years ago. It seemed like they arrived out of nowhere and were the talk of the town. Now, with a second album coming out in July, they are proving the band is not only sticking around, but getting better. Here’s Jason Bentley’s current favorite “Babelonia.”

School of Seven Bells – Babelonia

The band’s music – performed by identical twins Alejandra and Claudia Deheza and Benjamin Curtis (Secret Machines) — is undeniably dreamy, moody and sexy. (Though their new album is called “Disconnect from Desire,” interestingly enough.) Their debut “Alpinisms” was a station favorite and their new release was written mostly while they were touring around supporting it, including a stop on Morning Becomes Eclectic. The band will be kicking off a tour in Los Angeles at The Echo on June 2. I highly recommend catching them while you can!
