Sebastian Mullaert: Artist You Should Know

Written by

From our NYC correspondent DJ Jason Eldredge:

Sebastian Mullaert copyThe name Sebastian Mullaert may not be familiar to most, but his Minilogue moniker might. Late-nite vibes abound in this Swedish artist’s debut DJ mix entitled “WaWuWe,” out now on Mule Electronic.

The title of the collection is derived from a central term in Buddhism and the selections thereby seem to incorporate an all-inclusive attitude. Each diversely simplistic track is expertly mixed together by Mullaert, with a technically astute flow that’s eager to put you in the zone.

The journey is undoubtedly the thing in this two CD collection: disc one focusing mainly on downtempo and relaxing trance vibes, proper for any chill-out meditation; and disc two picking things up a bit with innovative beats from such dance mainstays as Jerome Sydenham & Dennis Ferrer, Âme and Mullaert himself.

A sample from Disc One, Music Become Function, can be heard below. Recommended for all lovers of electronica.
