Fanatics!

Tonight's show is a great one from top to bottom. I am listening to it right now and I am excited to roll it all out for you. I just got the Fidlar and Pissed Jeans records last week and am digging them, so I thought we should have some of their stuff in the show. The Fidlar outfit have mercifully made a radio clean CD so we can play them. I am obviously not in favor of censorship, even when I don't like what's being said but it really makes it hard to get some bands on the radio. We work really hard to keep things "clean" on the radio. So many times I will be listening to a song and all of a sudden, there's one of those words and I have to toss it out. Tonight, we have more Lamps. What a great band. Lamps going into Leadbelly is the reason we have a radio show.

In our second hour, we get slightly "normal" with Led Zeppelin and the Beatles but they are great tracks and it's fun to throw this kind of thing into our mix now and then. If you notice, we are using an alternate mix of the Beatles track. It's from one of the more interesting Beatles boots I have ever heard. The vocal sounds less treated or perhaps there's one less over dub on it. I listened to all the different versions I have of this song and this was the best one, so we check it. Recently, I got a 2CD compilation called The Second Marriage Records Comp. because I wanted to hear the Valet track on it. The track is great and we'll get to it soon but I heard two other songs on this very interesting release that I thought would be great for tonight, so for the first time, we check out Mantar and Rob Walmart. Very cool. Our Fall track is obviously a cover of the Leadbelly track that finished our first hour. I couldn't resist. All the way to the end with the Obsessed, it's all great. Wait until you hear the tone on Billy Gibbons guitar on the ZZ Top track.

You know how it is, Fanatic, we do our best to make this show rock week after week, year after year. That's what it's all about.

Next week, I will be in Washington DC, presenting a documentary about a spray paint artist and cultural force in DC called Cool Disco Dan. I will be doing a three hour DJ set on Friday night, presenting the film on Saturday night and hosting a show at the 9:30 on Sunday night. It will be all DC-area music, except for one Parliament track. I took great parts of that show and made next week's show from it.

Until then, check this excellent feast of tunes with us at 2000 hrs. or whenever you can. It's going to be a great one. Hang in there and STAY FANATIC!!!
