KCRW Broadcast 36

Fanatics!

Hello from Jakarta, Indonesia. I hope you all got a chance to check out last week's Halloween broadcast. So far, no letters of outrage. I'll try harder next time. Tonight, we have a healthy mix of music. Many of the usual suspects will be floating through your speakers over the next two hours.

As you might know by now, I am a woman. No, I am out of America and traveling all over. I spent a week in Saudi Arabia, then went to Brunei, from there to Yogyakarta, Indonesia and then here to Jakarta. I have been enjoying Indonesia. The one thing I didn't count on was that I would have any recognition factor here. It's happened quite a few times over the last few days and the disbelief on people's faces is downright cute.

A few notes on tonight's show. As I stated before, many of the artists will be familiar to you. A couple of artists make their first appearance on the show. The Matt Ritvo Group and I don't think we have had any music of Josef K on the show yet, I am sorry if I got that wrong. I went for a cool to hang in your room alone kind of mix for cooler temperatures. I hope you like the Phil Lynott track. You'll probably think that you're listening to a Thin Lizzy track. It has some of the band on the track actually, and there's live recordings of the band playing the song. It's my favorite song from the Solo in Soho album.

Engineer X and I have been working on these pre-tapes for a few months now. It's been a lot of work to make them good and not knock-off's but I think we will supply you with the good stuff. I want you to look forward to our show every week so I am making them as cool as possible. I just got a nice sized external hard drive so I have the contents of the computer that powers my studio here with me so I have a lot of music at my disposal so I will be able to make some really great shows from out here.

I wanted to give you Fanatics a heads up for next week's show. It will be live and hosted by Shepard Fairey. Engineer X will be at the controls. Shepard wrote me the other day and said that he's preparing his set list and is very excited at the prospect of laying some good music on you all.

So, next week, you will be in Shepard's capable hands, I have all confidence and am very happy that he said yes to being on our show. In two weeks, I will be back with you and we have a great one planned with the likes of Chrome, Witch, Exceptor, Duke Ellington, to name only a few.

Until 11-14-09, Obey Shepard and STAY FANATIC!!! --

Henry
