KCRW Broadcast 50

Fanatics!

Back with you live. Not only are we live, I am forty-nine today. Nothing to be done about it but rock out! Tonight’s show is a bunch of music I really like and wanted to listen to with you all in real time.

A week ago, our pledge drive ended and I wanted to thank you all because you delivered! Nice one. Thanks for keeping it real and keeping NPR in Southern California alive!

As you know, I have been out and about all over. I have been picking up some amazing records from all corners. There are going to be some great shows coming up so listen in if you can.

Tonight’s jams are in the spirit of a great mix tape. We pay tribute to DC with our first four selection and move onto other cornerstone jams.

I figured it would be fun to play some of my favorite music and that would be the concept for our show tonight. I have been working on this set for quite awhile. I hope you like it. Listen to a man turn damn near fifty and STAY FANATIC!!!

Here’s what: I am working on making the ticket prices very low. We will take money from each ticket sold and donate it to a good cause. I am coming up with some now but I think I already know where I will be sending the money. I will let you know the destination of the monies when I work it out with the organizations. Hopefully, they will let me make up the music for walk-in so it will be a great evening all around. Try and make it if you can. I will be onstage for about two hours a night, that’s how I do it. By the time I get to LA, I will have about one hundred shows under my belt. Should be pretty good shows.
