Indie electropop duo Sylvan Esso have sure kept busy during the pandemic. Last year, the Grammy-nominated pair released their acclaimed third album, “Free Love,” a multimedia art project called “Opening Night,” and an experimental podcast called “Shaking Out the Numb.”

Today, they’re continuing to do just that with the world premiere of pop polymath Teddy Geiger’s remix of “Numb” exclusively on KCRW. The track takes the ruminative joy of the original single and warms it up for the sunshine and communal celebration of the months to come.

“The song itself is about figuring out how to shake yourself out of depression by celebrating,” singer Amelia Meath tells KCRW. “Teddy took the initial theme of the song and just brought it into a much more quiet and emotional space than I was expecting. I’m just so grateful that we have gotten to work with her, and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”
