On this week's Rhythm Planet, Tom Schnabel explores popular bands in the U.S. and U.K. that have been influenced---or rather, smitten—by the classic 1960s and 1970s Ethiopian pop music covered on our May 17th feature on the massive 28 volume Éthiopiques series. It all goes to show that Ethiopian music is too groovy and catchy to just remain on home turf.
We'll feature music by the Debo Band, Bole 2 Harlem, Dub Colossus, Either/Orchestra and Gigi Shibabaw.
