Salmon Win in the Elwha River Dam Removal

Hosted by

Robert Elofson is the Director of River Restoration for the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe. The Elwha River in Washington State has been dammed for over a century. Because of the dams, salmon populations have declined dramatically, but starting in 2011 the dams are being removed and Elofson hopes that the salmon population in the Elwha River will climb to what it was 100 years ago. The dam removal process will take place over three years.
