The Stigma of Fast Food

Hosted by

When we think of convenience food several words come to mind - fast, cheap, unhealthy. What if we could take those adjectives out of the equation? Would we still have a hankering for those quick meals if they were nutritious? There is a notion of virtue that comes with the thought of a homecooked meal. University of Minnesota history professor, Tracy Deutsch, expounds on economics, labor, and consumption in her book, Building a Housewife’s Paradise: Gender, Politics, and American Grocery Stores in the Twentieth Century.
